The salon music of Joseph Woelfl from the early years of the 19th century deserves your full attention. It is literally situated between the late Mozart and the early Beethoven. The much too soon died Woelfl - he was just under 40.
... The three sonatas on this album saw the light in Paris. They sound endearing as salon music should be, but you still are having more backbone, content and playful expressiveness than the average chamber music from that era. It is a pleasure to play this unpretentious harp-violin-piano music in foreground or background in the living room to hear whirling. Thanks to three experienced musicians: the Belgian pianist Steven Vanhauwaert, Korean harpist Kyunghee Kim Sutre and French violinist Guillaume Sutre.
